Call to Honor: We are very sadden to announce the passing this morning of former Fire Chief, Gene Johnson.
Gene served on the department for 20 years, retiring in 1996. He held each officer position and was elected two different times as the WFD Fire Chief.
Gene spent 20 years serving the city (village) of Oakdale as a Police Officer, and most recently retired as the President of the Woodbury Athletic Association. He was also the home PA voice of Woodbury Royal football for many years ....
I'm honored to say that Gene was a friend. He was a dedicated family man and a mentor to so many. He will certainly be missed.
We want to send our condolences to the Johnson family and we will post service information when its available.

To all family members and friends, Gene was a real stand out guy. May everyone find comfort as he enters his heavenly life after.
Sad day for sure! He was always ready to help out, loved working with kids! My daughters and I appreciated everything he did while they were growing up and playing sports! He always checked in on them even when they graduated. 😢
Please accept our deepest sympathy for Corrine and all the Johnson Family.
